Reporting a bug

If a tool did not work, the following makes it far quicker to fix, and I will usually be able to reproduce it from this alone:

• Which tool, and what you were trying to do
• Your browser and whether you were on a phone or a computer
• Roughly how large the file was, and where it came from — a scanner, a phone camera, exported from Word, and so on
• What happened instead of what you expected

Please do not send the file itself. I cannot receive your documents through the site by design, and I would rather keep it that way — a description of the problem is nearly always enough.

Requesting a tool

Tell me what you need and, more usefully, what you are currently doing instead. The workaround usually explains the requirement better than the feature request does.
